Product Details

Most snowboard cores are made of strips of laminated hardwood or softwood like beech, birch, aspen, bamboo, paulownia, balsa or a mixture of them. Wood is used as it gives a lively feel with good vibration damping, it keeps its shape well, and has less resonance than foam or plastic.

The core is the board's heart; it's where the main riding characteristics and performance originate. Get the core design wrong, and no matter how much fancy material you add to it, you're going to get a board that doesn't work right.

Over the years, manufacturers have developed and refined core technology, evolving from simple ply and foam designs in the early days of the sport to complex multi stringer composite and wood designs of today's high-end boards.

To understand the principles of core design, we need to understand what the core is delivering to the board's performance. Understanding this makes it easier to see how different technology and materials used in the core bring additional benefits to your riding.

Product Advantages/Features/Usages……

Snowboard cores are mostly made of wood laminated together either vertically or horizontally. Different types of wood and combinations of wood can be used to change the flex and feel of boards. Pine, Birch, Bamboo, Maple and Aspen are quite popular. Usually 2X4 pieces of wood are glued together and stacked up into what will eventually become the width of a core. They are then cut down the stack into multiple cores giving the cores a striped pattern which also helps keep the boards more torsionally rigid while leaving some longitudinal flex. Some cheaper boards are pieced together using a fingering process to save the excess pieces of wood. The glue from this process is often stiffer than the wood itself and while avoids waste can cause odd flex patterns.

An all mountain board core is pretty balanced. It is you don’t need a lot of experience to ride this. Any beginner can start with this and even improve their mastery of different terrains just by using this board alone.

Brief Introduction to Product Detailed Pictures

Snowboards and Skis are usually made of one kind or several kinds of wood boards of finger jointed and edge glued methods. Normally, each slice of wood board widths range from 5mm to 20mm, with thickness from 6mm to 10.5mm and length from 265mm to 340mm.

Wood cores offer excellent rebound, are responsive, damp vibration, have a lively feel, keep their shape well, and are extremely durable. Wood-core skis tend to feel more stable, too, and are less likely to degrade over time.

Wood cores have various densities, depending on the type of wood used. High density cores, like hardwoods, are heavy and durable, which makes the ski or snowboards drive better in variable conditions. Lower density cores, like poplar or paulownia, have a lighter feel and allow the ski and snowboards to be more nimble.

To build the core, we layer vertical strips of wood—most often with varying densities—together and bond them with epoxy. This gives the ski or snowboards sits longitudinal stiffness.
